As part of our growth, we are seeking a Mechanical Workshop Controller (Dispatch) to optimize the performance of our service department.

Your Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Mechanical Workshop Controller ensures the efficient allocation of work within the workshop. You will assign work orders to technicians according to their skills, workload, and daily priorities, to provide impeccable customer service, meet deadlines, and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Distribute work orders to technicians based on their expertise and availability
• Prioritize tasks according to appointments, emergencies, and promised timelines
• Monitor work progress in the workshop and adjust allocations in real-time
• Handle unforeseen issues and changes in priority with agility
• Collaborate closely with technical advisors, parts department, and service management
• Minimize downtime and optimize overall workshop efficiency
• Verify that operations are correctly stamped by technicians
• Resolve blockages related to parts, delays, or workload
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and productivity standards

Profile

• Experience in a mechanical workshop or automobile dealership
• Good understanding of how a service department functions
• Excellent organizational and priority management skills
• Good knowledge of automotive mechanics
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit and strong communication skills
• Sense of urgency, rigor, and autonomy
• Knowledge of dealership management systems (a plus)

Experience (minimum)

• 3 years as Workshop Foreman / Supervisor
• 4 years as Mechanic / Technician
