Automotive Mechanical Technical Advisor

Location: Quebec City, QC

Context and Objective

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the Automotive Mechanical Technical Advisor builds a trusting relationship with the customer for their vehicle maintenance and guides them through the preventive maintenance process.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and ensure quality service at all times
• Perform walk-around inspections of vehicles before work orders are opened
• Accurately identify and describe issues reported by customers
• Recommend maintenance services as advised by the manufacturer
• Present promotions and relevant complementary products based on the vehicle assessment
• Act as a liaison between the customer and the workshop to obtain necessary authorizations for work
• Open and close work orders and monitor interventions
• Explain invoice details and manage payment of fees
• Solicit and gather feedback through service quality evaluations (CSI)
• Manage appointment scheduling and customer follow-up
• Produce repair cost estimates
• Handle incoming calls related to the service

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Automotive Technical Advisor
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
• Good knowledge of preventive maintenance and manufacturer standards
• Ability to diagnose problems and communicate technical results clearly
• Ability to work in a team and coordinate with the workshop
• Proficiency with computer tools and workshop management systems
• Organization, rigor, and attention to detail
