Job description The Sales Director - New Vehicles oversees the new vehicle department, ensuring sales targets, profitability, and customer satisfaction are met. They lead the sales advisors and sales managers, and manage daily operations to guarantee an impeccable customer experience and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

Strategic and financial management

  • Set monthly and yearly sales, profitability, and performance objectives
  • Establish and monitor the operating budget
  • Design and implement sales and marketing strategies in line with manufacturer programs
  • Optimize inventory management (ordering, rotation, balance)

Operations management

  • Supervise all activities related to new vehicle sales
  • Validate transactions and intervene in complex situations
  • Ensure compliance with processes, policies, and regulations
  • Maintain high standards for delivery and customer experience
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure operational smoothness

Leadership and team management

  • Motivate, supervise, and develop team members
  • Lead meetings and ensure continuous training
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation
  • Support advisors in achieving their targets and optimize their performance
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-oriented working environment

Sales intervention and support

  • Intervene in transactions when necessary
  • Negotiate with clients and support the team in closing sales
  • Manage problematic situations and ensure satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and partners
  • Rigorously follow up on sales files and after-sales activities

Performance monitoring and continuous improvement

  • Analyze customer satisfaction indicators and reports
  • Monitor sales tools and processes
  • Implement concrete actions to improve results and customer experience
  • Contribute to customer loyalty and retention

Candidate profile

  • Significant experience in sales management within the automotive sector
  • Strong leadership, proactivity, and ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent negotiation skills and high customer orientation
  • Good understanding of sales strategies, financing, and dealership operations
  • Rigor, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Activix, Deskit, Ignite) and performance indicators (an asset)

Desired experience

  • Minimum of 1 year as a Sales Director or equivalent position in automotive
