Position: Parts Clerk / Automotive Parts Sales Advisor
Location Donnacona, QC
Job Description We are seeking a Parts Clerk / Automotive Parts Sales Advisor to join a dynamic team. You will be on the front lines for customer service and parts management, both at the counter and via phone or email. You will help deliver an exceptional customer experience and optimize the flow of parts and orders.
Main Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Service
- Assist customers in selecting parts efficiently and provide high-quality service both internally and externally (retail and workshop).
- Inform customers about accessory parts and promotions.
- Ensure knowledge of the entire product range among customers.
- Answer phone calls and/or emails, provide prices, and supply any other information.
- Develop a sales approach during incoming calls and emails (selling parts and setting appointments).
- Contact loyal customers to encourage new purchases.
Administrative Tasks Related to Orders
- Ensure internal parts requests are billed on the repair order; process payments or obtain credit approval.
- Ensure each customer receives a copy of the invoice and approve credits for returned parts by verifying the original invoice.
- Maintain complete records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts; monitor pending orders.
- Weekly review of files for pickups, deliveries, and suspended orders.
- Manage uncollected returns and unwanted items (stock/returns to suppliers); restock assigned stocks daily.
- Review body shop quotes to ensure relevant parts are ordered and prices are appropriate.
- Label return parts for replacement and recyclable items according to manufacturer policies; inform the parts manager of stock shortages or urgent matters related to workshop materials.
- Identify stock shortages through external sources and place urgent orders if necessary.
- Inform the technical advisor and customer upon receipt of special ordered parts.
Other Tasks
- Participate in the annual parts recall and assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Distribute and track shop tools requisitioned by technicians.
- Keep counters clean and organized; clean computers and printers daily.
- Collaborate with the parts manager to maintain a sales loss tracking program.
- Stay informed about new products and updates.
- Assist with receiving merchandise and help keep the parts department tidy.
- Deliver parts to technicians if needed and maintain a professional appearance.
- Perform additional tasks as required and as directed by management.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum experience: 1 year as a Parts Clerk / Automotive Parts Sales Advisor.
- Excellent customer service and sales skills.
- Good organization, rigor, and versatility.
- Strong communication skills and team spirit.
- Proficiency in computer tools and parts/ invoice management processes.
- Professionalism and neat appearance.
