General Manager Position – Automotive Group (confidential) – Île of Montreal
Job Overview
Join a leading automotive group on Île of Montreal as General Manager. Under the supervision of the board of directors and in collaboration with operational management, you define and drive the overall strategy, ensure financial performance, and supervise daily activities. You guarantee alignment between business objectives, customer requirements, and quality standards while protecting and enhancing the company's reputation locally and regionally. Experience with the Toyota network is considered a major asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the overall strategy in line with profitability, growth, and customer service objectives.
- Oversee operational, commercial, financial, and human resources divisions and ensure effective coordination between teams.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards, safety, and environmental standards; promote continuous improvement.
- Manage financial aspects (budgets, forecasts, cost control, resource optimization).
- Develop and maintain relationships with dealerships, suppliers, partners, and sector stakeholders.
- Lead digital transformation and innovation initiatives to optimize efficiency and customer experience.
- Recruit, develop, and retain talent; foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and performance.
- Represent the company to authorities, partners, and sector networks when appropriate.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for the board of directors.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an executive or equivalent leadership role.
- Experience in the automotive sector is highly desired; familiarity with the Toyota network is a major plus.
- Higher education degree (MBA, Master's in administration, engineering, or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven leadership, results-oriented approach, strategic vision, and ability to mobilize multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in French (written and spoken); English is an asset.
- Mastery of management tools (ERP, Excel, financial analysis) and knowledge of quality and safety standards (ISO, etc.).
- Availability and local mobility; ability to operate in a competitive and constantly evolving environment.
