Controller – Finance, Accounting, and Administration (Permanent Contract)
Our automobile dealership is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the company's financial management, accounting, and general administration. You will work in a modern environment, within a dynamic team, with prospects for advancement and attractive conditions.
Job Description
- Lead financial planning and accounting practices in connection with credit institutions, shareholders, and the financial community.
- Ensure reliable and regular financial reporting for the entire organization.
- Develop and implement internal control systems ensuring efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data quality.
- Supervise the processing of financial information and ensure the achievement of strategic objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Financial and Accounting Management
- Cash flow, budgeting, auditing accounting books, purchasing, fixed assets, and insurance.
- Analyze and consolidate financial indicators, including costs and margins.
- Prepare financial statements and monthly and annual operational reports.
- Establish and monitor control and compliance procedures (GAAP/PCGA depending on the context).
- Coordinate with the accounting firm and optimize tax advantages.
- Monitor cash flow, collections, and management of accounts receivable.
Operational Administration and Control
- Manage purchases, fixed assets, and insurance; support long-term planning.
- Track budgets, reporting, and evaluation of operational performance.
- Oversee annual audits and inventories; reconcile bank statements and the general ledger.
- Prepare data for external audits and optimize audit costs.
Insurance and Risks
- Manage relationships with insurers and risk coverage (comprehensive insurance and civil liability).
- Prepare and coordinate insurance claims and indemnities.
Human Resources and Staff Administration
- Performance evaluations, training, and motivation of administrative and financial teams.
- Manage compensation policies and employee benefits; ensure legal compliance.
- Monitor personnel files and training and development programs.
Requirements and Education
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of Serti software (a plus).
- Degree in accounting; CPA is a plus, ideally.
Skills and Qualities
- Strong financial analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Skills in budget management and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software (Serti, SAAQClic).
- Organizational skills, leadership, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
