Assistant Controller – Sainte-Julie or Montreal

Main Responsibilities
- Lead accounting activities, financial management, and internal controls.
- Establish and maintain accounting management and control mechanisms, ensuring the validity of financial information in accordance with current accounting principles.
- Initiate and oversee the budgeting process in collaboration with managers, ensuring the optimal allocation of financial resources.
- Manage cash flow, collections, expenses, liquidity, and derivatives.
- Prepare GST and QST filings.
- Conduct analyses for various departments.
- Participate in monthly and annual closures.
- Assist in hiring recruits under supervision, in collaboration with human resources.
- Coordinate the team’s schedule (vacations, days off, etc.) and collaborate on special projects.
- Work with management on transversal initiatives.
Profile
- University degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Professional CPA title.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in SMEs or in a dealership (asset).
- 5 years of team supervision experience.
- Functional English (French/English spoken and written).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office; ideally advanced Excel and knowledge of SQL (a plus).
- Strong teamwork orientation and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Attention to detail, rigor, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and effective communication; ability to work under pressure and ensure the reliability of information.
