Mechanic / Technician - Apprentice (Apprenticeship) – Fortier Ford Montreal East
Fortier Ford, a new dealership of the GENX Automobiles group in Montreal East, is seeking a Mechanic / Technician - Apprentice to join a dynamic team. The position focuses on learning and professional development in a modern and structured environment.
Job Summary
You will participate in the maintenance and repair of vehicles according to OEM standards and internal procedures, while developing your technical skills through ongoing training and guidance from experts. You will work in a supportive environment that promotes learning, work quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles according to OEM standards and internal procedures
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine mechanical and electrical repairs (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electronics)
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and operational procedures
- Ensure quality of interventions and respect deadlines, while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with senior technicians and the after-sales service team
- Accurately document interventions, complete work orders, and track parts used
- Follow safety rules, hygiene standards, and internal policies
Profile / Qualifications
- DEP in automobile mechanics or equivalent training in progress; first experience (≥ 1 year) in a similar role considered an asset (apprentice accepted)
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostics; ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
- Good skills in reading technical diagrams and repair procedures
- Team spirit, customer service orientation, and willingness to learn
- Fluent French; technical English is an asset
- Valid driver's license
- Availability for flexible hours and summer schedule options
