Job Description

Mechanic – Mobile Unit (Montreal)

Professional and dynamic attitude in the service of a heavy mobile unit, in the Montreal area. Evening position, traveling and team-based.

About the position

You solve mechanical puzzles and ensure the maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles on the move. You work in collaboration with parts and technical advisors to guarantee efficient, safe interventions that meet deadlines.

Main responsibilities

  • Perform tasks described during service calls and on-site repairs.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and carry out relevant repairs.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary components and label parts if under warranty or at the client’s request.
  • Work with technical advisors on potential additional work or repairs that cannot be performed on the road.
  • Document all interventions on repair orders.
  • Conduct road tests when necessary to validate the repair.

Profile and skills

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in heavy truck mechanics.
  • Vocational diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics.
  • Class 3 driver’s license required (Class 1 is an asset).
  • Excellent knowledge of computer tools and diagnostic systems.
  • Strong service orientation and customer relationship skills; versatility and autonomy.
  • Solid diagnostic and repair skills (gas engines, anti-pollution systems, hybrids/electrics, air conditioning, injection, electrical/electronic systems, ECM/PCM/ECU programming, suspension and steering, hydraulic braking).
