Technical Leader – Automotive Diagnostics and Field Leadership (Montreal – on-site)

Important Information

  • Location: Montreal, on-site
  • Type of employment: Full-time
  • Compensation: Up to $50/hour based on experience
  • Schedule: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Fridays until 2:30 pm

Your daily role

  • You are the technical reference of the workshop, under the supervision of the president.
  • You combine mechanical expertise and operational leadership within a team of 8 technicians.

Technical reference & quality assurance

  • Validate complex diagnostics
  • Control the quality of work performed
  • Conduct road tests as needed
  • Intervene on major technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Field leadership and coordination

  • Supervise and support 8 technicians
  • Support ongoing training and knowledge transfer
  • Act as a mentor to less experienced mechanics
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and high-performing team environment
  • Monitor daily progress of work and prioritize tasks
  • Verify and approve hours recorded on timesheets
  • Optimize productivity in collaboration with services and administration

Profile sought

  • Strong experience in automotive mechanics
  • Advanced diagnostic skills (electronics, complex problems)
  • Natural leadership and technical credibility
  • Rigor, organization, and good judgment
  • Desire to grow into a coordination role without moving away from technical work

Technical skills (key tasks)

  • Diagnosis and repair of gasoline engines
  • Diagnosis and repair of anti-pollution systems
  • Diagnosis and repair of hybrid or electric vehicles
  • Diagnosis and repair of air conditioning and heating systems
  • Diagnosis and repair of fuel injection systems
  • Electrical and electronic diagnosis and repair
  • ECM – PCM – ECU programming
  • Suspension and steering repair
  • Brake system repair and maintenance (hydraulic)

Experience

  • 1 year as Workshop Foreman/Supervisor
  • 5 years as Mechanic/Technician
