Job Description
Mechanic (Senior) – Garage Monk, Communauto
Start date: As soon as possible
Work location: 5590 Blvd Monk, Montreal (H4C 3R8)
At Communauto, North America's leading car-sharing service, we ensure the maintenance and proper functioning of a diverse fleet of vehicles. We are looking for an experienced senior mechanic for our Garage Monk to bring expertise on the most complex diagnostics and repairs, without responsibilities related to sales or customer relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical reference for the workshop and ensure advanced diagnostics (mechanical, electrical, electronic)
- Perform complex repairs: engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes, ABS systems
- Work on onboard systems (OBD2, CAN bus, ADAS)
- Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems
- Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and vans
- Ensure interventions comply with technical and safety standards
- Identify recurring technical issues and propose improvements
- Serve as a technical resource for the team when necessary
- Report to the Workshop Manager at Garage Monk
Profile
- 8 to 10 years of significant experience in automotive mechanics, handling complex cases
- Professional diploma in automotive mechanics or equivalent recognized training
- CPA competency card (1, 2, 3 or A, B, C) where applicable
- Valid driver’s license (class 5)
- Valid halocarbon (air conditioning) certification
- Knowledge of electric and hybrid vehicles (an asset)
- Rigour, stability, and good judgment under pressure; attention to quality work
- Team spirit and clear, professional communication
- Bilingual in French/English
