Apprentice Mechanic – Automotive Diagnostics and Repairs | Promécanique St-Laurent
Promécanique St-Laurent is seeking an experienced apprentice mechanic, focused on diagnostics and work quality, to strengthen its workshop.

Role and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on a variety of vehicles.
- Perform maintenance and repairs according to work orders, and conduct road tests if necessary.
- Identify causes of breakdowns and propose appropriate fixes; carry out major repairs when required.
- Work meticulously to ensure quality and safety of work; collaborate with the team to optimize shop operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace.
- Adhere to quality, safety standards, and good professional practices.
Technical Tasks (Technical Fields)
- Diagnostics and repairs of anti-pollution systems
- Diagnostics and repairs of hybrid or electric vehicles
- Diagnostics and repairs of air conditioning and heating systems
- Diagnostics and repairs of fuel injection systems
- Electrical and electronic diagnostics and repairs
- Programming ECM/PCM/ECU
Profile Sought
- Significant experience in automotive mechanics; apprentice mechanic status or equivalent experience
- Strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics
- Comfort with modern automotive technologies and diagnostic tools
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Autonomy, rigor, efficiency, and team spirit
- Pride in well-done work and customer satisfaction orientation
- Valid driver's license
- CPA certificate (1, 2, or 3) or equivalent (A, B, or C)
Additional Skills and Qualifications
- Organization and time management
- Proficiency with computers and diagnostic software
Conditions and Benefits
- Permanent full-time position
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM (40 hours/week)
