Automotive Apprentice Mechanic – Quebec Region

About the position An apprenticeship position aimed at a motivated and enthusiastic individual, ready to learn essential automotive repair techniques. You will work in a stimulating and safe environment, with personalized support to develop your skills.
Responsibilities and tasks
Daily responsibilities
- Assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing and repairing various vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations) and conduct brake inspections/checks
- Help install parts and components under supervision
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
- Participate in training sessions to expand your knowledge and skills
Technical tasks
- Oil and filter changes
- Diagnose and repair engines (2-stroke) and outboard motors
- Diagnose and repair stern drive (outboard) engines
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems
- Diagnose and repair hydrostatic transmissions
- Diagnose and repair interior propulsion systems (inboard)
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems
- Tire mounting and balancing
- Repair and maintain braking systems (air and hydraulic)
- Repair and maintain suspension and steering
Skills and requirements
- First-year apprentice card (CPA)
- General understanding of vehicle systems; in-depth knowledge is an asset but not mandatory
- Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively
- Precision, attention to detail, and good problem-solving skills
- Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
- Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods
