Automotive Mechanic Apprentice – Used Vehicle Reconditioning
Location: Joliette, Quebec
Job Description Join our team for used vehicle reconditioning. Under supervision, you will help diagnose, repair, and prepare vehicles for resale, while ensuring work traceability and collaboration with various departments.
Main Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose incoming vehicles; assess the condition and prioritize interventions based on profitability and deadlines.
- Perform essential mechanical and electrical repairs (brakes, suspension, gasoline engines, fuel injection systems, air conditioning, electronics, etc.).
- Diagnose and repair key systems: engines, anti-pollution systems, hybrids/electric vehicles; program ECM/PCM/ECU.
- Accurately document all work performed for each unit.
- Propose alternative solutions when standard repairs are too costly.
- Collaborate with the Used Vehicle Manager, the detailing department, and the parts department on the status and needs of each vehicle.
Profile Sought
- Experience in automotive mechanics; 2 years of experience as a mechanic/technician or apprentice.
- Automotive technical diploma appreciated; otherwise demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license; experience with manual transmission is a plus.
- Autonomous and resourceful; capable of managing workload and finding solutions.
- Good prioritization skills, focused on profitability and safety.
- Good communication skills; ability to work with multiple departments.
