Parts Department Manager – Châteauguay, Quebec
We are seeking a Parts Department Manager to lead the parts service and play a key role in stock management, procurement, purchasing, and after-sales service in the automotive sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the parts department strategy (inventory management, forecasting, restocking, cost optimization).
- Lead, train, and develop the parts team, promote autonomy and performance.
- Oversee purchasing and relationships with suppliers and distributors; negotiate terms and monitor performance.
- Manage all operational processes (receiving, storage, order preparation, and shipping), ensuring quality and safety.
- Analyze performance indicators (KPIs) and produce regular reports; propose and deploy continuous improvement measures.
- Collaborate with production, sales, and after-sales departments to ensure parts availability and meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in the development and control of the parts department budget; optimize resources and investments.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in parts management, logistics, or automotive environment.
- Leadership and team management skills; ability to motivate and develop talent.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management tools; knowledge of an ERP (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong customer service orientation and results-driven.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and prioritize operational issues.
- Local mobility and availability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; valid driver's license and local mobility required.
- Bilingual French/English preferred.
