Job Description
Job Offer: Automotive Parts Clerk
An independent and well-established auto repair shop is seeking an experienced Parts Clerk to join the team. Full-time position, salary: $28 to $35/hour depending on experience. Fridays off at noon.
Important note: this position is dedicated to shop work and does not involve customer service.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Search for, identify, and order the parts needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Collaborate with mechanics and technical advisors to ensure parts availability at the right time.
- Work with various suppliers to obtain the best options in terms of quality, price, and lead time, and maintain strict follow-up on orders.
- Receive orders, verify the accuracy of received parts, and prepare parts for scheduled work.
- Organize and distribute parts according to ongoing jobs; manage returns and credits.
- Handle defective parts and warranty claims.
- Maintain inventory, reorder common parts, and verify billed prices/quantities.
- Keep the parts area clean and organized.
- Participate in reducing delays and waiting times in the shop.
- Work with electronic parts catalogs/ supplier platforms and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Desired Profile
- Experience in auto parts, ideally in an independent garage, dealership, distributor, or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of automotive components and ease with electronic catalogs and supplier platforms.
- Resourceful, quick, and organized; proactive in finding solutions.
- Team spirit and understanding of the impact of your role on workshop productivity.
- Proficiency with computer tools and parts management procedures.
Benefits and Conditions
- Salary: $28 to $35/hour, depending on experience and skills.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Hours: Monday to Thursday and Friday half-day.
