Journeyman mechanic

Apprentice Mechanic – Hyundai Saint-Constant (12-month fixed-term contract)

Hyundai Saint-Constant, a modern workshop located in Saint-Constant (near Brossard), is looking for an apprentice mechanic to strengthen its team. Fixed-term contract of one year.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on Hyundai vehicles and a selection of partner brands, according to group guidelines.
• Assist experienced mechanics, respecting established procedures and deadlines.
• Diagnose simple to moderate breakdowns, conduct functional tests, and verify the quality of repairs.
• Prepare and reintroduce vehicles in compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; document interventions in the diagnostic system and maintain records.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and share best practices with the team.

Key technical tasks

• Diagnosis and repair of gasoline engines; anti-pollution systems; hybrid or electric vehicles.
• Diagnosis and repair of air-conditioning/heating systems.
• Diagnosis and repair of injection system (gasoline); electrical and electronic systems.
• ECM/PCM/ECU programming; repair of suspension and steering; braking system (hydraulic).

Requirements and qualifications

• Autobody mechanic diploma or equivalent; workshop experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (or progressive training within an apprentice contract).
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems; ability to read diagrams and diagnose simple faults.
• Good communication skills and team spirit; service orientation and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude, reliability, and ability to work in a performance- and quality-oriented environment.
• Availability and adaptability to fit into our schedules.
• Valid driver's license.
• Certifications: CPA skill card (1, 2, 3 or A, B, C).
