Financial Services Director (Automotive)
Location: Laval, Quebec
A large car dealership based in Laval is seeking an experienced Financial Services Director to lead and optimize all financial activities related to vehicle sales.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead financing, insurance, and related warranties associated with vehicle sales, ensuring excellent customer service and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise the financing team and work closely with sales and operations departments to facilitate transactions.
- Define and implement credit policies, risk assessment, and compliance procedures; rigorously monitor files.
- Manage relationships with financial institutions and insurers; negotiate financing and insurance terms and optimize margins and processing times.
- Analyze the department's financial performance; prepare budgets and reports for management; propose areas for improvement.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of files and documents; ensure adherence to internal procedures.
- Implement best practices in customer service and actively contribute to achieving departmental and company objectives.
- Participate in the evolution of financial processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a role related to automotive financing, or equivalent experience in financial management.
- University degree in finance, accounting, management, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of automotive financing products, insurance, and warranties; understanding of credit processes with financial institutions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills; ability to lead a team and work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Analytical mindset, rigor, organization, and capacity to make decisions in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with relevant computer tools; knowledge of Quebec and Canadian regulatory requirements related to auto credit and insurance.
- Fluent in French; functional English would be an asset.
