Job Description
Body Shop Estimator — Permanent, Full-Time
About the Company
Centre de Collision Rive-Nord is a state-of-the-art workshop equipped with high-quality equipment for frame repair and various body work. On-site you will find top-of-the-line paint booths, a team of assessors and partner insurers, a limited lifetime warranty on most repairs, and over 10,000 square feet of workspace.
Your Responsibilities
- Schedule customer appointments within 24 hours of receiving a claim notice and inform the insurer if the customer is unreachable.
- Determine if the vehicle is a total loss and notify the insurer.
- Prepare professional estimates in compliance with the standards of the Automotive Insurers Group and partner insurers.
- Take clear and precise photos of damages and document any additional repairs with photos and justification, informing the insurer before any intervention.
- Order, track, and inventory necessary parts, and assign them to the repair order.
- Communicate with customers when parts are received, establish the repair plan, and inform about timelines.
- Estimate work durations, report any changes or delays.
- Monitor repair progress and ensure compliance with technical directives.
- Conduct quality control at the end of repairs and close the repair orders.
- Verify insurance payments, deductibles, rental authorizations, and the remaining balance before delivery.
- Assess structural, mechanical, body, and interior damages, and estimate repair costs and parts.
- Propose additional repairs when appropriate and obtain the owner's authorization.
- Use Autatex and Mitchell estimation tools for preparing quotes.
- Perform other tasks as needed and directed by management.
Profile
- Certificate in automotive damage estimation or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in damage estimation.
- Proficiency with Autatex and Mitchell estimation tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Ability to work in a team and manage multiple files simultaneously.
