Experienced Controller – Honda Saint-Jean (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec)

Important information Honda Saint-Jean, a dynamic dealership located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, is seeking an experienced Controller to support the financial management of an operation handling approximately 800 vehicles annually.

The position Reporting to the financial management, you will oversee financial control, data reliability, and reporting, working closely with operational teams. You will ensure compliance with standards and deadlines while supporting the company's sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the monthly and annual closing, analyze results, and prepare reports for management and Honda Canada.
• Manage the complete accounting cycle, reconciliations, accounts, and financial statements in accordance with ASPE/GAAP standards.
• Control and value vehicle and parts inventories, monitor margins, costs, and inventory turnover; collaborate with Sales and Operations teams.
• Develop annual budgets, perform forecasts, and analyze variances; propose corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
• Implement and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and policies; coordinate internal and external audits.
• Supervise, if necessary, a small accounting team and coordinate with external partners (accountants, suppliers).
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory obligations, and maintain the integrity of financial and operational data.
• Work closely with the Sales, Parts, and Service departments to ensure the accuracy of financial and operational information.

Candidate profile (Required qualifications)

• Degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation is a plus.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role; proactive attitude, professionalism, and eagerness to learn.
• Solid knowledge of ASPE/GAAP accounting principles and automotive dealership taxation.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting tools; advanced Excel (PivotTables, complex formulas).
• Strong analytical skills, rigor, integrity, and attention to detail; good time management and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; fluency in spoken and written French; English is an asset.
