Senior Financial Controller – Granby (Automotive Dealership)

Our client, a well-established automotive dealership in Granby, is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to play a key role in financial performance and strategic management. You will be a true business partner for management and actively contribute to operational and financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting activities (collections, accounts payable, accrued expenses, fixed assets)
  • Ensure monthly closing of the general ledger and analysis/reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Establish annual budgets and analyze departmental profitability; closely monitor financial performance
  • Act as a strategic partner by providing financial analysis to guide business decisions
  • Participate in planning and overall management of operations
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Negotiate and manage strategic agreements (financial institutions, group and corporate insurance, etc.)
  • Manage and monitor regulatory files (CNESST, tax authorities, etc.) and ensure compliance
  • Assist in preparing the year-end tax filing
  • Supervise, motivate, and support the current team
  • Coordinate inter-departmental efforts and ensure smooth daily operations

Profile Sought

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience
  • Experience in the automotive sector (a significant asset)
  • Mobilizing leadership, excellent influencing and team-building skills
  • Big-picture vision and understanding of operational issues of a SME
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and decisive
  • Ability to thrive in a versatile and dynamic environment
  • Autonomy, sound judgment, and high sense of responsibility
  • Excellent computer skills

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial control (Controller position or equivalent)
