Experienced Vehicle Buyer – GENX Automobile Group (Montréal-Est)

Job Mission Under the supervision of the Purchasing Director, you will lead vehicle acquisitions to optimize costs, quality, and delivery times, while ensuring profitability and compliance. You will negotiate, evaluate, and acquire vehicles that meet the company’s operational and budgetary needs.

Main Responsibilities

• Negotiate and finalize vehicle purchases with suppliers and dealerships, respecting cost, quality, and deadline objectives.
• Analyze offers, compare proposals, and recommend the best sourcing solutions.
• Monitor the purchase cycle: ordering, receipt, and inventory of vehicles.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and automotive network partners.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, budgets, and legal and fiscal requirements.
• Participate in evaluating and continuously improving procurement processes.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and sales departments to optimize fleet turnover and profitability.
• Manage purchases of used vehicles, including assessments and data entry.

Candidate Profile

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in vehicle purchasing or a similar role in the automotive industry.
• Analytical mindset, strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency with IT tools (ERP, Excel) and ability to work with data and KPIs.
• Organizational skills, rigor, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Good interpersonal skills and team spirit; results-oriented.

Practical Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
