Automotive Apprentice Mechanic – Used Vehicle Refurbishment Joliette Region
We are looking for a passionate automotive apprentice to join our team dedicated to reconditioning used vehicles. In this role, you will learn and actively contribute to bringing reliable and high-performing vehicles back to market, in collaboration with the Used Vehicles Manager, the detailing department, and the parts department.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose incoming vehicles
- Perform necessary mechanical repairs (brakes, suspension, electrical, fluids, etc.)
- Prioritize interventions based on cost/benefit ratio and market release deadlines
- Propose alternative solutions when standard repairs are not cost-effective
- Document work performed and the condition of each unit
- Coordinate with other departments (detailing and parts) to track vehicle status and needs
- Diagnose and repair systems: gasoline engine, anti-pollution, hybrid/electric systems, air conditioning, injection system, electrical/electronic
- Perform ECM/PCM/ECU programming and maintain the suspension, steering, and braking system
Profile Sought
- Minimum experience: 2 years in automotive mechanics (mechanic / technician – including apprentice)
- DEP in automotive mechanics is an asset; equivalent demonstrated experience accepted
- Autonomous and capable of managing workload
- Resourceful and proactive in finding solutions
- Strong sense of priorities and profitability, without compromising safety
- Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments
- Valid driver’s license and experience with manual transmission
