Job Description
Assistant to the Controller – Automobile Dealership (Full-time, permanent)
Our dealership is seeking an Assistant to the Controller to play a key role in administrative and accounting operations. Rigor, organizational skills, and an analytical mindset will be your strengths on a daily basis.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Record and validate sales files and ensure their timely processing.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash registers.
- Process and follow up on payroll and prepare governmental remittances.
- Analyze accounts, monitor discrepancies, and participate in monthly closings.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports, contribute to improving internal controls.
- Prepare documents required for financial audits and verifications.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth information flow.
- Support the controller in various administrative and financial tasks.
Profile Sought
- Education in accounting, administration, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in a similar role (minimum 2 years recommended).
- Good understanding of the accounting cycle and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, rigor, and adherence to deadlines.
- Judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
- Ability to collaborate with different stakeholders.
- Experience in the automotive sector is an asset.
Skills and Tools
- SERTI, Merlin, Nethris software
- Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Banking and government portals
- Knowledge of procedures and internal controls
Working Conditions and Benefits
- Permanent full-time position; daytime schedule, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility regarding hours can be discussed.
- Annual salary between $65,000 and $75,000 depending on experience.
