General Mechanic / Technician – Viau Ford (Saint-Rémi)
We are recruiting a general mechanic/technician to join the Viau Ford team. In a family-oriented and stable environment, you will contribute to providing impeccable technical quality and exceptional customer service.
About the position
Reporting to the workshop, you will work on Ford vehicles and other brands, applying manufacturer standards and our internal procedures. You will collaborate with the team to ensure efficient repairs that meet quality and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain Ford vehicles and other brands according to internal procedures and manufacturer standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, and mechanical and electronic inspections.
- Diagnose breakdowns using diagnostic tools and software; interpret codes and diagrams.
- Read and interpret technical schematics and manuals; clearly document work performed and parts used.
- Communicate with after-sales service and clients as necessary to ensure a quality customer experience.
- Comply with safety standards, workshop procedures, and deadlines; optimize operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the team to improve workflows and the quality of repairs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive mechanics (or equivalent).
- Relevant diploma (DE in automotive mechanics or equivalent).
- Skills in diagnostics, repair, and use of diagnostic tools/software.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electronic vehicle systems; Ford knowledge preferred.
- Team spirit, customer service orientation, and autonomy when necessary.
- Adaptability and rigor in following procedures and quality standards.
Technical Skills
- Engine diagnosis and repair (gasoline)
- Diagnosis and repair of anti-pollution systems
- Diagnosis and repair of hybrid or electric vehicles
- Diagnosis and repair of air conditioning/heating systems
- Diagnosis and repair of fuel injection systems (gasoline)
- Electrical and electronic diagnosis and repair
- Programming ECM/PCM/ECU
- Suspension and steering repair
- Brake system diagnosis and maintenance (hydraulic)
Working Conditions and Atmosphere

- Hours: Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
