Experienced Automotive Mechanic / Automotive Technician
About the Company
Garage R. Ethier & Fils, a family-owned workshop in its third generation, is rapidly expanding in Saint-Jérôme (Quebec). Specializing in the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles and North American brands. Permanent full-time position, in a climate-controlled environment, focused on skills development and quality service.
Main Responsibilities
- Accurately diagnose faults and determine the necessary parts and repairs.
- Perform maintenance and repair of gasoline, hybrid/electric, and diesel engines (light vehicles, vans, and medium-duty vehicles).
- Work on various vehicle systems (injection, electrical, air conditioning, etc.) regardless of manufacturer.
- Diagnose and repair engines, differentials, and transmissions (an asset).
- Inform the technical advisor of potential additional work, the relevance of repairs, and any impossibilities.
- Continuously seek technical improvements and keep skills up to date.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace compliant with safety standards.
- Demonstrate autonomy, rigor, organization, and punctuality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma in automotive or heavy vehicle mechanics.
- CPA Companion certification.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a mechanic/technician.
- Personal tool chest.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license; experience with manual transmission.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment and conduct research independently.
- Proficiency with injection, electrical, and air conditioning systems.
- Assets: halocarbon certification; experience with trucks/diesel; experience working on engines, differentials, and transmissions.
- Preferred knowledge of specialized software (e.g., Mitchell OnDemand, AB Magic).
Working Conditions and Benefits
- Permanent full-time position; schedule from Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
