Job Description

Automotive Parts Manager – Canadian Tire, Laval Le Corbusier (Laval, QC)

Job Summary Manage the automotive parts department to ensure an exceptional customer experience and contribute to the store’s sales objectives. You will lead the team, optimize displays and inventory, and serve as a liaison between the department and the automotive center services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a culture focused on delivering exceptional customer service through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Empower each team member to provide exemplary customer service and recognize outstanding performances.
  • Lead by example by providing impeccable customer experiences and applying store policies and procedures.
  • Plan and prioritize department tasks, set realistic goals, and follow up on priorities.
  • Supervise the team to promote appropriate service behaviors and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Maintain the department’s presentation (signage, labeling, cleanliness, seasonality) and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Manage the warehouse and supplies; ensure orderliness and safety of stock.
  • Track department projects and performance; be available for the team and customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers, and communicate department and store policies.
  • Comply with health and safety programs and rules; promote HSE procedures and ensure team adherence.
  • Participate in employee training, including internal training (Canadian Tire University).
  • Perform other related tasks as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 1 year experience supervising/managing a team in retail or a similar environment.
  • Experience in sales and operation of a department or warehouse.
  • Good practical knowledge of department items and their uses.
  • Operational proficiency with Costar; knowledge of AS/400 and cash register is an asset.
  • Basic math skills and keyboarding proficiency.
  • Leadership, independence, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and motivate a team.
  • Fluency in French (written and spoken); knowledge of English is an asset.
